At Out This Door, we do NOT want you to have the Trip of a Lifetime. That’s way too much pressure! Instead, we want to have A Lifetime of Trips.

Out This Door is a travel blog with tips, stories, destination reviews, and itineraries.

Near or far, on the cheap or ritzy splurge, for the night or many more, a lifetime of trips will find the fun, low stress, and little pleasures in life.

We’re “slow travelers”—not because we move slowly, but because we skip rigid, minute-by-minute itineraries and choose a few meaningful experiences each day. Keeping plans flexible lets us follow the weather, local tips, and our own curiosity, which makes trips feel more spontaneous and far less stressful.

The Trip of a Lifetime implies that the trip only comes along once in a lifetime. What a downer when you think of it. Just one trip?! And the stress of making that ONE trip perfect… no thank you!
